WCAG 2.2 AA
Accessibility statement
BELtogether aims for WCAG 2.2 AA so that everyone can use it. The site goes through an automatic accessibility test (axe) with every release.
What have we done?
- Large text button (A+); your choice is remembered on your device.
- Read-aloud on every card (using your device's speech engine).
- Sufficient colour contrast, keyboard use and a "Skip to content" link.
- The tools never require dragging; everything can be done with buttons. Animations follow the "reduce motion" setting.
- Official Dutch and French terms are marked with a language tag, so screen readers pronounce them correctly.
- The help page can be reached from the same place on every page (bottom menu).
Known limitations
- Some Android devices have no speech engine for this language; in that case the "Listen" button is not shown.
- The text equivalent of the drawings in the tools is given in the result boxes.
If you run into a barrier, please tell the project team; we will try to fix it as soon as possible.
